Legislators, staff members lay down law on good meals

For the quail: In a large bowl, combine the Italian salad dressing, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic and bay leaf. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place quail or chicken in the marinade and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove meat from marinade (do not discard) and wrap each with 1 slice of bacon, securing with a wooden toothpick. Place quail or chicken in 9-by-12 glass baking dish, pour reserved marinade over meat, then sprinkle with steak seasoning. Cook at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes, until bacon is done.

For the salad: Shred the cabbage and place in a large salad bowl. Add Italian dressing and salad seasoning. Toss and serve.

Dothan, Providence face tough foes in Regional

The Rattlers feature 6-foot-6 guard Nick Williams, a Marquette signee, who is averaging 24 points a game. Today’s regional appearance is Dothan’s first under current head coach Terry Goodson and the first for the Tigers since the 2004-05 season when Jim Golden was head coach. Ironically, Dothan and LeFlore played a memorable contest earlier this decade in the 6A state championship game in Birmingham with LeFlore edging the Tigers in the final seconds, 58-57. Florala (17-8), the Dothan Eagle’s other coverage team in action today, hopes the third time in the charm against J.F. Shields. The Panthers have knocked out the Wildcats in regional action the last two years, doing so in the first round last year and in the regional finals two years ago. The Wiregrass does have a defending state champion alive playing in the regional this week.

New Year’s resolution ideas for celebs

Celebrities are just like anyone else. Sure, they're rich and famous and get pulled over for DUIs a lot. But essentially they're no different than most.

They often make poor choices in mates. They overindulge. They fail to save money, believing it will continue to come in an endless stream. They pack on weight. They're insecure. They make New Year's resolutions, or at least try, just like most Americans.

Of course, because of their frenetic schedules, they don't always have time to do so. Often the new year comes and goes without resolutions. Sometimes they have their agents or personal assistants make the resolutions for them and then send reminders on their BlackBerries, but it's not the same.

Buzz Briefs: Brad Renfro, Pink

To conquer his fear of heights, "Good Morning America" host Chris Cuomo jumped from the roof of an Atlantic City casino Tuesday morning.

As part of the ABC morning show's series about overcoming fears, Cuomo and a stunt coordinator used cables to zip nearly 40 stories down the side of the Trump Taj Mahal.

The stunt was carried live on "Good Morning America" as a crowd of onlookers cheered from the ground.

Before the trick, Cuomo told himself he was on "an elevator with no walls."

And after?

Cuomo, the son of former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, says he was happy he did it.
